What is Facial Acupuncture?
Facial Acupuncture (FA) is a natural Collagen stimulating treatment that rejuvenates the facial skin while promoting overall health and well-being. Unlike modern invasive cosmetic procedures that often also reply on harsh chemicals, FA harnesses the body’s own healing mechanisms by enhancing our innate natural beauty.
How Does it Work?
The heart of FA is based on the fundamental Principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM), which views Wellbeing as a Holistic system where the physical, emotional, and
spiritual aspects of Health are interconnected. According to TCM, the skin reflects the body’s
internal balance. Disruptions of the internal balance often manifest as skin complaints such as acne, dry skin, or signs of premature ageing.
During a FA treatment, ultra-fine needles are gently applied to specific points on the face and
body to stimulate the flow of Qi (vital energy) along meridian (body channel) pathways. In some treatments we may also use Gua Sha and special Cupping techniques. This
method of stimulation encourages increased oxygenated blood flow, collagen production, and
lymphatic drainage -this in turn helps to reduce fine lines, firm up the skin, soften tight facial
muscles and improve overall skin tone, moisture and texture.
Why Choose Facial Acupuncture?
Invasive cosmetic procedures can be painful and come with risks and downtime. Often requiring that you hide away while your body and face recover from severe bruising and FA on the other hand, offers a gentle and nourishing approach to beauty enhancement.

Donna Pillay
Donna has always greatly appreciated working in the Traditional Chinese Medicine world because she finds that it profoundly supports patients alongside Modern Medicine.
Her fascination with TCM started in her early twenties. One of her friends recommended seeing an Acupuncturist for severe PMS and tension headaches. The relief TCM provided was so significant that as soon as she completed her Arts degree she immediately enrolled to study a Bachelor of Science TCM degree at UTS.
Since completing her Degree in 2008 Donna has mainly focussed her skills in the areas of Women’s Health and all aspects of Fertility.
