Clare Faux
Clare is an AHPRA registered practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Chinese Medicine). She also has a PhD from the University of Melbourne and worked for a number of years as a research scientist, studying neurobiology and how the brain develops. It was a combination of her scientific curiosity and her desire to help people with their health that drew her towards her career in Chinese Medicine.
As a co-director of the Melbourne Acupuncture Pregnancy Clinic in Melbourne, Clare works closely with patients planning a family. She has a strong understanding of the IVF process and both the difficulties and sheer joy it can bring. Clare also has extensive experience in treating women throughout their pregnancy, assisting with various issues that might arise.
Clare is dedicated to helping people realise their dream of having a family and enjoys supporting them throughout the process. Following the holistic approach of Chinese medicine, she considers all facets of a patient’s health (current and previous conditions, family history and emotional well-being) to develop an individualised treatment plan.
Clare firmly believes that the more traditional or natural therapies can go hand-in-hand with conventional or western medicine and may be used to complement each other, with much to be learnt from the ideas and values of both.
Clare creates a warm, caring and relaxing environment for her patients. She has an extremely gentle treatment approach, using techniques such as acupuncture, cupping and Chinese herbal medicine, together with diet and lifestyle advice.
