FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Can fertility acupuncture support conception on the Central Coast?
Research suggests acupuncture may help regulate hormones, support blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, and reduce stress. At our Gosford clinic, this evidence is built into a personalised plan alongside any fertility or IVF treatment you’re undertaking.
(Cochrane et al., 2014. Int J Womens Health, 6:313–25. DOI: 10.2147/IJWH.S38969)
Is pregnancy acupuncture safe throughout all trimesters?
Yes. Pregnancy acupuncture uses gentle, pregnancy-appropriate point selection and is commonly used to support nausea, fatigue, and stress across all three trimesters, tailored to your stage and symptoms.
How many sessions are recommended before embryo transfer?
Research suggests nine to twelve treatments before and around embryo transfer is associated with improved outcomes, though even four or more sessions have been shown to meaningfully improve clinical pregnancy rates.
(Smith et al., 2019. Reprod Biomed Online, 38(3):364–379. DOI: 10.1016/j.rbmo.2018.12.038)
Do you offer birth preparation support on the Central Coast?
Yes. From around 35 weeks, birth preparation acupuncture may support cervical ripening and optimal positioning, and can include acupressure techniques for you and your support person during labour.
What does a first appointment at the Gosford clinic involve?
Your practitioner will take a comprehensive history covering your menstrual, reproductive, and general health, followed by treatment using Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis including pulse and tongue examination. Your plan may include acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and lifestyle support.
